Yes, we are in the throws of Civil War mania here at Chez Edmondson. Last Saturday we attended a Civil War Re-enactment:
Here I am with my friend Dan in our Civil War era get ups. In keeping with Project Spectrum's color of the month - my costume is GREEN!
And here I am with good ol' Abe. People said we bore a striking resemblance to Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln - she was a short woman too.
Debi (in black hat) and Les - both sitting (Dan is standing between them) are hard-core re-enactors and travel around to all the re-enactments and do school visitations, etc. Les will be playing General Lee in the musical drama and Debi is our historical consultant - we don't want a FARB alert (FARB = Far be it from authentic).
This is my friend Jebby (the musical genius behind the Civil War rock opera "Brothers" we're putting on) marching off to war. He was an extra in the Civil War Epic Gods & Generals.
And where would our re-enactments be without paying homage to the fiber arts.
More miscellaneous photos from the event...
How cool! (Although the clothing looks hot!) Thanks for sharing the pics. :) Now I feel the need to watch "Gettysburg" yet again.

Ha! you and Abe look great together. Although I don't think she wore such nifty sunglasses. :)

How cool! My husband loves all things about the civil war, I'll have to show him the pics. I grew up in New England and there we reenacted the Revolutionary War.

That looks like a lot of fun. But did they have sunglasses during the Civil War? :-)
